1. What Is ViPlex Express?
ViPlex Express is a management system that enables users to publish display content on their PCs. The system is designed for the Windows operating system and facilitates the editing and playback of solutions on LCD or LED displays.
It is a more user-friendly software compared with Nova Studio.
Additionally, ViPlex Express can be utilized to control multimedia players in async mode.
What Is NovaStar software?
NovaStar software portfolio includes NovaLCT, SmartLCT and ViPlex Express which are specifically designed for LED display management, configuration, and calibration.
These software solutions are known for their user-friendly interfaces and rich features, making it simpler for users to create and manage LED displays of varying sizes and types.

3. Select Modes from Studio Mode or Async Mode
If you open the software, there will be a window popping up for you to choose from studio mode or async mode.
The studio mode is the synchronous mode, and async mode is used for Novastar Taurus Series.
3.1 Studio Mode
Once we click studio mode, there will be an interface like this: you can add content sources on this interface.
Here are two options for us: regular screen or ultra-long screen. And we will apply regular screen today.
And then, we need to adjust the size of canvas on the popping up window to the same size as our screen. In this case, we adjust the width and height to 512 and 256 pixels.
You can choose different sources from the top of the window. For instance: files, word, clocks, analog clocks, timer,s and so on.
In this case, we upload an image into the canvas. And as you see, the size of the image does not match that of the canvas because there is black border around the picture.
On the right side, you can see the image size is 497*230 pixels, but we have mentioned the screen size is 512*256 pixels.
So, what would we do?
You can click the “Fill the Entire Screen” button to make the image full screen! That is really simple, isn’t it?
After we make the image or video source full-screen, we can click “Preview” to see the real-time effect on the screen.
After that, click “Play” on the top-right part of the interface to display the image or video on your screen!
3.2 Three Steps of Viplex Express Software Setting
In conclusion, there are three steps for you to show images and videos on your screen through Viplex Express:
(1) Choose a mode, and in this case, we choose studio mode;
(2) Set the window resolution the same as the screen resolution. Just click “Playback Window” to achieve this.
(3) Add media such as images and videos to Viplex Express. Do not forget to click the full-screen button to automatically make the media source fit in the screen size.
4. Basic Functions
Let’s see the first red section marking number 1:
(1) Total: total number of devices.
(2) Online: the Taurus devices that have been connected successfully to the PC and log in.
(3) Not Login: the Taurus device has not been connected to the PC but is not logged in. You need to log in to the device and then access it.
(4) Offline: you will need to check whether the connection is stable.
Now we turn to the second red section.
The “Refresh” button can search for the Taurus device by specifying an IP address.
The 3rd section will show you the screen name, IP, and size.
Also, you can click “Connect” to connect screens. If the connection is successful, then “Log Out” will be shown on the interface.
Click the right mouth button, and there will be a pull-down list for you to have more options such as “Rename“, “Change Password” “Forget Password“, etc.
And the 4th section named “DHCP Service” means when you have troubles with the connection between the Taurus series and PC through Ethernet cable, you can turn on the DHPC service to help you.

5. Solution Management
In this section, you will know how to add solutions and edit solution lists.
You can click “Solution” to turn to this solution interface. And click “New” to add new solution list. Then name the solution, and can choose the terminal device to set the resolution automatically.
Then you will turn to this interface. As you see, there is a variety of media widgets you can choose from to edit your solutions. For example, files, pictures, text, clocks, and so on.
You can also choose a different page template or customize a template as you want! In the different sections of a template, you can insert different media types.
By scrolling down the right side of this interface, you can settle the playback modes of this solution.
On the page properties interface, you can schedule each page to form a schedule list for the whole solution.
After setting, you can click “Preview” on the right-top part of the interface to confirm the solution!
6. USB Playback Solutions
First of all, we need to choose “Solutions”, and click the “USB Playback” as the image shown below.
Just click the USB playback icon or button to create a USB playback solution!
Select “plug and play” on the poping-up window.
Then select a USB flash drive to save the solution. Also, you should enter the login password of the Taurus player.
Please click “OK” to export the solution.
We will go back to this page like below. Click the icon in the red box.
Choose the “Copy and play” button on the popping-up window. And set the solution saving policy, save location, and terminal password.
Click “OK” to export the solution.

AVI only supports the following video coding formats:
MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MPEG-4 ASP, H.264, DivX 4/5/6, XviD, SV1, 3ivX D4, H.264/MPEG-4 AVCMKV, AMR, WebM, WMV, MP3. For instance, AVI videos in DX50 and MP4V formats cannot be played.
When a video format is not supported, you are advised to convert the video to MP4 format with a professional video format conversion software.
